Bunnaloo Public School Students Shine in Golf Program

Bunnaloo Public School students have showcased their skills and passion for golf in a highly successful two-week Sporting Schools program.

Over the sessions, students refined their techniques, tackled advanced challenges, and demonstrated teamwork, creativity, and impressive competitive spirit.

A highlight of the program saw older students design their own golf course, which younger students then played confidently, showcasing just how much their skills have developed.

The introduction of the Rapsodo launch monitor added extra excitement, with students tracking their longest hits in chalk and cheering each other on.

Several students have already progressed to further opportunities, with Thea Rinaldi, Isobel Grimwade, and Gabby McCubbinn participating in the Australian Golf Foundation Girls Scholarship Program at Rich River Golf Club, and others attending weekly junior clinics.

Many students have also taken part in Golf NSW/JNJG Junior on the Move events, competing in 5- and 9-hole competitions.

The program was delivered by Golf NSW/JNJG Engagement Officer Jody Fleming, who led the sessions and helped students develop their skills.

“Bunnaloo has been committed to golf from the beginning,” Fleming said.

“And that commitment is paying off. These kids now have the skills and confidence to keep playing into the future, and who knows, maybe this little school will be home to the next generation of champions.”

With the Rich River Junior Open and Junior on the Move event on December 14 fast approaching, many Bunnaloo students will be teeing off and representing their school with pride.
